Bhopal: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the students' wing of BJP, and Youth Against Corruption have given a call for country-wide 'college bandh' on September 4 to protest the controversial allocation of coal blocks.

"We have given a call for college bandh tomorrow across the country in protest against the coal and aviation scam and to press for the resignation of Prime Minister Manhohan Singh," YAC national joint coordinator Vishnu Datt Sharma told reporters.

The country's image has suffered because of unearthing of scams like 2G, Commonwealth and coal among others, he said.

The ABVP and YAC will also stage a protest at Gondia in Maharashtra against former Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel by taking out 'padyatras' from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, he said.

The yatras will culminate at Gondia where YAC and ABVP workers will stage a massive protest before Patel's residence for allegedly handing over land of airports to private companies virtually free of cost, he said.
