The 17mm thick smartwatch has the capability to notify users about calls as well as text messages. The company has not yet revealed much details of this device.

It is reported that the Liquid Jade smartphone will be installed with a 5-inch Gorilla Glass display. The devices are expected to be launched by the end of July or beginning of August this year.

Earlier, Samsung also expanded its business in wearable gadgets market with the launch of Gear lineup. Gear 2 smartwatch runs on the Tizen operating system rather than Google's Android software, and a stripped-down version called Gear 2 Neo, which doesn't have a camera.

Samsung Gear Fit, also targeting the fitness sector, has a heart rate monitor. The Gear Fit has a curved touch-sensitive screen and its features include a pedometer, Samsung said.
