Amritsar: Jagdish Kaur and Babu Singh Dukhiya who levied allegations on Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan for inciting 1984 riots that resulted in a massacre submitted a memorandum to the ‘Panch Singh Sahiban’ appealing them not to forgive Amitabh Bachchan for his role.

Amitabh had earlier written a letter denying any kind of involvement in the riots.

In a meeting of Panch Singh Sahiban held at the secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib,  Jagdish Kaur and Babu Singh Dukhiya said that they have retained the TV clippings which show how Amitabh provoked the killing of Sikhs on the national television.

They also said that they could hand over the clippings of Amitabh’s comments on Sikhs to the Panch Singh Sahiban.

Both Jagdish and Babu pointed out that Gurvinder Singh Bawa’s (member of SPGC Mumbai) role as a betrayal of the Sikh community.

They questioned the committee as to why Gurvinder accepted any letter from Amitabh Bachchan. Both of them have appealed to the Panch Singh Sahiban to ask Avtar Singh Makkad of SPGC not to assist Amitabh Bachchan on this matter.

Panch Singh Sahiban will hold a meeting on December 22 for further discussion in this regard.
