Mumbai: Noted film and Marathi theatre actor Rasika Joshi passed away here on Thursday after a brief illness. She was 39.

Joshi, who was suffering from cancer, died at a nursing home in suburban Bandra, family members said.

Rasika was also working with RGV in the upcoming “Not a Love Atory”. Calling her death a loss, RGV said,

“She was one of the top rated artists I have worked with. Rasika could get into any given character very subtly. She played the role of Neeraj’s mom in ‘Not a Love Story’ and was vomitting blood on the sets too. She was so committed towards her work that she completed her last shot and was always professional.”

Rasika gained immense popularity with the character in ‘Bandini’ and even after going through serious illness; the actress was positive and optimistic.

She also acted in Bollywood films including ''Malamal Weekly'', ''Ek Hasina Thi'' and ''Bhul-Bhullaiyya''.
