New Delhi: The CBI is all set to investigate the additional construction of flats in the Commonwealth Games Village and the increased Floor-Area-Ratio (FAR).

The investigating agency has recovered related documents from the DDA in this regard.

The CBI’s investigation can mar people’s plans of shifting in the Games Village, while the DDA was all set to sell 722 flats and the concerned construction company had assured the buyers of handing over 446 flats.

Notably, 17 additional flats constructed in the Games Village were demolished after the irregularities were mentioned in the CAG report. The relations between the DDA and the concerned builder were strained following this development, according to sources.

After the meeting with two parties, the DDA had decided to renovate the destroyed flats and gave the repair work of towers to a company. However, the DDA sealed few towers and the work got halted mid way.

The DDA wants to solve the FAR matter by sealing few towers but the company is not keen on it.

The DDA has sent the matter to the Urban Development Ministry which has not granted a completion certificate to the flats.
