New Delhi: BJP senior leader LK Advani’s rath yatra against corruption can mar the party’s election strategy in Uttar Pradesh.

In a bid to paint the state with saffron colour, the plans to roll out Jan Swabhiman Yatra by BJP senior leaders Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra may get extended as Advani’s rath yatra will pass through the state during the same time.

The two-phased yatra by the senior leaders can halt for a longer period due to Diwali and Chath in the same month.

Moreover, the concluding date of the yatra in Lucknow may also be shifted.

In a bid to project the BJP as a ruling party in the state, the party workers are highly active and senior leaders, Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra, will roll out Jan Swabhiman yatras from October 13.

Meanwhile, Advani’s rath yatra will pass through the state more or less on the same time. To avoid any kind of coinciding of dates, BJP leaders in UP were planning the final roadmap of the yatra.

According to sources, Advani’s yatra is expected to go through the state from November 7-13 following which rest of the party yatras will be kept at bay.

The yatras by Mishra and Singh were expected to begin from October 23-November 12 which might remain suspended and the concluding date can get extended from November 21.
