Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has etched a special place in people’s heart and his popularity seems to be increasing with the each passing day. Such is the effect that people in rural areas of the state refer him as a bearded saint.

His popularity took an interesting turn when an advocate, inspired by Modi, scripted a ‘Namo Chalisa’ which chants praise about Modi.

Toeing the lines of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, this scripts-'Jai Narendra gyan gun sagar garvi Gujarat ke lok ujagar. Bhajpa doot jansangh ke gyaata, damodar putra gurjan jan ke bhrata'- is making news in Ahmedabad.

Not only this, a banner containing the entire ‘Chalisa’ was placed in the BJP state office, but it was removed later.

However, BJP office secretary Paresh Patel claimed that he is completely unaware about the issue. He said: “Everyone is well aware that Modi himself does not likes this kind of praise and publicity.”

Such praises for political bigwigs have been witnessed in the past also. Earlier, fans had written ‘chalisa’ for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
