Lucknow:  After the conclusion of Bharatiya Janata Party’s national working committee meet at Lucknow, the state Congress unit has pulled up their socks to speed up party activities in Uttar Pradesh.

Congress has called for its first provincial party committee meeting on Sunday, in which thrust would be given on party activities.
Barely a month back, Congress had announced the much awaited State Congress working committee. The first meeting of the recently constituted party committee will be presided over by State Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

In the meeting, Congress members will frame their strategy to target the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government on anti-farmer policies and other issues. Party’s public hearing programme starting from June 9 at Tehsil level will be given the final touches in the meeting.

Congress spokesman Virendra Madan said the meeting will start at 11am on June 5 at party headquarter.

The meeting of election committee of Congress is slated this week. In addition to Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, state in-charge Digvijay Singh, state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Union Ministers Beni Prasad Verma, Salman Khurshid and several other prominent leaders will attend the meeting.
