Lucknow: Accusing UP Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh of corruption, a district official on Friday offered his resignation to Governor BL Joshi.

District Udyan Adhikari (DUA), Sultanpur, Chandra Bhushan Pandey, also the president of UP Udyan Adhikari Association, wrote a letter to the Governor and accused Singh of being involved in corruption.

Pandey had offered to resign in 2008 over the issue of corruption. Requesting the Governor to relieve him, he alleged that the minister "harassed" those who raised voice against him.

Earlier, DIG, Fire Services DD Mishra had alleged corruption in his department while IPS officer Amitabh Thakur alleged harassment by his superiors and filed a writ in High Court.

Pandey alleged that Rs 200 crore scam had occurred in his department and a 30-50 per cent commission was charged to provide subsidy to farmers.

"I had already resigned in 2008 but it was not accepted. I request the Governor to accept my resignation and relive me from my duty", he said, adding that he has forwarded his letter to the minister, principal secretary of his department besides others.
