New Delhi: After distancing himself from social activist Anna Hazare’s new team, former Army Chief General VK Singh is now in touch with Team Kejriwal. This has raised the speculations whether General Singh will hold any position in Kejriwal’s party, which is likely to be announced by the end of this month.
Putting an end to all the speculations that Ex-Army Chief can join the new Team Anna, General Singh has now started coordinating with members of Team Kejriwal. In this series, General Singh met Team Kejriwal at Prashant Bhushan’s residence in Noida and reportedly emphasized on the better coordination in their fight against corruption.
According to the sources, during the meeting General Singh appealed to all the organizations to come together and launch a united fight against corruption. He reportedly advised Arvind Kejriwal to sort out the differences with the Team Anna and let them use the name ‘India Against Corruption (IAC)’ on which IAC member apparently agreed.
Later, Prashant Bhushan said, “It was a usual meeting to discuss the ways to strengthen our fight against corruption. Widespread corruption is our prime concern and we want everyone to make a united front on it. The meeting was all about it.”
It is to be noted that Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan are likely to announce party’s name on 26th November. Under these circumstances, neither Arvind Kejriwal nor Prashant Bhushan has clarified that will former Army Chief play a role in his party.
If sources close to General Singh are to be believed, he is in no mood to be linked with any particular organisation. He will rather opt to maintain a cordial relation with all of them including, Arvind Kejriwal, Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev, though none has denied the speculations that he may join the politics.
