Patna: Taking cue from Uttarakhand, Nitish Kumar- led Bihar government has given thumbs up for new draft of Lokpal Bill on the line of Anna’s Jan Lokapa. The state government on Tuesday has approved new amendments made in the Lokayukta Bill which will include Chief Minister, State Assembly Speaker, MLA, top bureaucrats including all government servants.

In order to take the views of the citizens in this regard the administration has uploaded the Bihar Lokayukta Bill along with the changes made in it on its official website site. After studying views of the group of ministers, final shape will be given to the Bill.

In comparison to the Bihar Lokayukta Bill 1973, the Bill has been made strong. Under the provisions of the Bill, Lokayukta will be a three member body which will consist of one president and two other members appointed by Governor with the consent of council of ministers.

According to the new Bill, there will separate wing for investigation-prosecution as well as for the budget.
It is expected that the state government will table the Bill during the winter session of the Assembly.
