Patna: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday said that the new branch of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Bihar would be fully functional by 2013.

”By next year, the hospital would be operational,” he said. Azad lauded the quality of materials being used in the construction of the AIIMS here. ”I am satisfied with the quality of materials.”

However, he also said that the medical course would be introduced this year itself. ”I have directed the concerned officials to complete the remaining work of the medical college in the next two to three months. Hope that medical college would start this year,” he said.

Union Minister was in the state Capital to inspect ongoing construction work of AIIMS in Phulwarisharif area.
