Air India will abide by any international advisory "to avoid airspace over conflict zone like Ukraine", an Air India official said.

Indian carriers, Jet and Air India, use the same route over eastern Ukraine to operate flights to US and Europe.

Aviation sources said airlines have to take a call on their routing to America and European destinations.

There are several routes to go to US and Europe, airlines had to take a call whether to abide by global aviation advisory on such issues, they said.

All 295 people on board Malaysia Airlines plane were killed on Thursday after the aircraft was shot down over war-torn eastern Ukraine near the Russian border.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur carrying 280 passengers and 15 crews could have been brought down by a ground-to-air missile.
