New Delhi: Keeping in mind the high number of Buddhist tourists visiting Bihar, the Air India has started it daily flight from New Delhi to Gaya from October 1.

Both the Centre and Bihar government agreed to develop Gaya airport as the main airport of the state as Patna airport was not preferred by Buddhist tourist.

Air India’s direct flight from Delhi would reach Gaya at 3.55 pm via Varanasi on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and return back to Delhi from Gaya at 4.55 pm on the same days. Another flight would be available on the same route on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Air India is already operating its international flight from Gaya to Yagon on every Saturday via Kolkata.

Thai Airways has also announced to operate its flight from Bankok to Gaya via Varanasi on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
