New Delhi: The All India Students Federation (AISF), the student wing of the Communist Party of India has made its presence felt in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) polls with all three candidates grabbing significant number of votes.

The AISF candidates Neha Nikita, who contested the DUSU president, secured 963 votes, while Pawan Kumar Khuswaha managed to get 1125 votes for vice-president post. AISF’s Trilok Rawat received 743 votes in this poll.

The DUSU polls were conducted on Friday and results were declared on Saturday. Lavish poll campaigns and use of money and muscle power were earlier the basic features of DUSU elections. But after the Lyngdoh committee recommendations, such practices were restricted.

This time NSUI bagged all the four seats. In 2011 DUSU polls, Its arch rival ABVP had won three seats except president post.
