Lucknow: In order to keep the Muslim vote bank intact, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday assured All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) President Maulana Rabe Hasni Nadvi that Samajwadi Party government is committed to comprehensive development of the minority community in the state.

Apprising Nadvi of the development works carried out during the last one year for the Muslims, Akhilesh Yadav said that the state government is consulting the legal experts over providing population-based reservation to them.

The SP government would release the Muslim youths in jails booked on fake terror charges, said the Chief Minister adding that he intends to implement the feasible recommendations made by Rangnath Mishra Commission and Sachar Committee.

The government is considering the All India Muslim Personal Law Board’s demand, informed the Chief Minister who also requested Nadvi to suggest plans for the welfare of Muslims in the state.

Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Ahmad Hasan, who accompanied the Chief Minister to Nadwa, assured Nadvi that Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav are serious over the welfare of Muslim.

Hasan termed the recent communal riots as the Opposition’s conspiracy to tarnish government’s image. After facing humiliating defeat in 2012 assembly polls, they allegedly indulged in the communal violence, added the UP Health Minister.
