Addressing his election rallies in Kusmara and in Alipur Khera, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai alleged that Samajwadi Party (SP) goons have unleashed a reign of terror across the state.
"Under the patronage of its leaders, women and girls were being made targets of rape, loot and other crimes. This government will fall itself because of its policies and anti-people deeds," Bajpai said.
Alleging that in 2012 assembly elections, people of the state had given absolute majority to SP but after coming to power they turned a blind eye towards their sufferings.
The state BJP chief also accused the government of being engaged in fomenting communal passion across the state to suit its political interests, and said that the women and the girls were the worst sufferers.
"During two years of SP rule, as many as 105 communal riots have taken place in the state and unfortunately 71 of them were results of molestation and rapes," Bajpai said.
