Lucknow: Akhilesh Yadav government has decided to scrap the Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission in a bid to remove retired Justice Vinod Chandra Misra from his post as Chairman of the commission.

More importantly, Vinod Chandra Misra happens to be brother of BSP national general secretary Satish Chandra Misra. Finding it unable to remove Vinod Chandra Mishra from his post, the state government has decided to scrap the commission.

The decision to scrap the State Law Commission Act 2010 has been taken in the state cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

Citing the reason behind this, the state government said that the commission was not able to achieve the aim for which it was constituted. In such circumstances it has lost its relevance. As, the state legislature was not in session, so the state cabinet decided to bring the Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission (repeal) Ordinance 2012 to cancel the Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission Act 2010.
