New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav, UP’s Chief Minister-designate, doesn’t believe in unnecessary show off, rather he believes in result oriented performance.

Presently he is a Member of Lok Sabha from Kannauj and within six months from now, he needs to get the membership of the either of the houses of the UP Legislature- Legislative Assembly or Legislative Council.

On this question, Yadav made it clear that he is not going to ask any of the sitting MLAs of the Samajwadi Party to vacate his or her seat to facilitate him to get in to the state assembly. He will choose to get the membership of the state Legislative Council.

Outgoing Chief Minister Mayawati and the present Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, both are the members of their respective state Legislative Councils.

Replying to a question in this regard, Akhilesh said, “I will be a member of the Legislative Council and will meet my promises made during election campaign. People have great expectations from the SP government and we will leave no stone unturned to fulfill them.” He further added that youths will get prominence in the new government and tainted officers will be removed from their posts after the swearing in ceremony on March 15.

He also added that the new regime in the state will not act against anybody with a view to settle the political scores. Public and private partnership will be preferred for development projects.
