"Today (Wednesday) is the first day of release (of 'Boss'). Everything is going fine. I am very happy that it has got a good response," Akshay told reporters at the Gaity Galaxy theatre on Wednesday.

"I am very thankful to the audience that they are watching the film and have loved it. That's what an artist wants," he added.

It’s being said that in Akshay’s career no film has raked the amount ‘Boss’ has on its day of release. With this movie, Akshay has broken his own box-office record. It is being speculated that the movie has collected around 18 crore on the box-office. However, an official round up of the records is still awaited.

‘Boss’, directed by Anthony D'Souza, was released across 3,000 screens in the country and the movie registered a good occupancy, especially in the morning show. The movie, an action thriller, also features Mithun Chakraborty, Ronit Roy, Shiv Pandit and Aditi Rao Hydari in key roles.
