TCL, the Chinese handset maker that owns the Alcatel brand, has also introduced a new connected accessory named BOOMBand with this handset. BOOMBand is a device that works as proximity alarm. It will reportedly come in many colors. This band will work as a proximity alarm whenever the user forgets the phone. This Accessory is connected to an application in Idol X+.

The Alcatel Idol X+ is powered by Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The handset is installed with a 5-inch full-HD IPS display that possesses a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels.

The device runs on an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor that is clocked at 2GHz with 2GB of RAM. It features a 13-megapixel rear auto-focus camera, which features options like HDR, face detection, touch to focus, panorama, burst mode and night mode. Idol x+ includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ aGPS, Micro-USB and 3G as connectivity options.
