The odd-even scheme for vehicles will not only address the pollution related problems of Delhi, but also the snarling traffic.

While the complete plan is to be drafted by December 25, the government will conduct trial run of the unique plan from January 1-15.

The Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays have been reserved for the even numbered vehicles, while Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for the odd numbered ones. All the vehicles can ply on Sunday.



After much deliberation, the government finalised the days formula, as it would become easy for the people.

The odd-even formula will be enforced from 8 am to 8 pm.

The decision over the exemption of single female drivers from the odd-even formula is yet to be taken.

The rule will be applicable for vehicles registered not only in Delhi but also in other cities.

The government has decided to run 6000 buses during the trial period of the plan to make it convenient for people.
