The Lucknow division bench comprising Justices Rajiv Sharma and Mahendra Dayal passed this order while hearing the petition of Chandra Bhushan Pandey.

Pandey had moved the High Court staking Naitiak Party's claim on ‘Jhaadu’ election symbol, saying that the party was allotted this symbol in the 2012 Assembly polls.

He claimed that the party had in advance applied to the Election Commission for the same symbol for Lok Sabha polls too. Pandey said allotting the symbol to AAP was against the law.

While issuing notices to Election Commission and AAP, the High Court directed that the next date of hearing be fixed after four weeks.
