New Delhi: Amidst the intensifying debate on trifurcation of Uttar Pradesh, Rastriya Lokmanch supremo Amar Singh batted for the division and asked Chief Minister Mayawati to bring a proposal in this regard in the Winter Session of state Assembly.

Acclaiming the trifurcation of the state important for the development of the regions, Singh asked the Chief Minister to propose a bill in this regard and get it passed from the Assembly so that it could be sent to the Central Government soon.

“Instead of sending letter to the Prime Minister for the formation of Purvanchal, Paschimanchal and Bundelkhand states, the CM should bring a proposal in this regard at its earliest,” Singh said.

“This can only be done by the Mayawati government as it has two-third majority in the state,” he added.

Illustrating the deplorable condition of eastern UP, he said that despite the eastern UP catering 80 percent demand of electricity in the state, the BSP and SP will entertain the regions of their stronghold when they are in power.

He also demanded a white paper by the UP government on the amount spent on the parks created in various parts of the state.

Speaking over the soaring prices, he held the general public responsible for the current scenario. He urged the masses to understand their power and elect their honest representatives in the elections.

Singh also raised questions against the Central Government and asked that why the Delhi Police is not taking action against lawyer Prashant Bhushan when it has been found that the CD involving him was genuine. “Why Home Minister P Chidambaram is afraid of taking action against Bhushan,” he asked.

Singh was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on October 24 on humanitarian grounds in view of his medical condition. He was undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) under the judicial custody.

Speaking over the postponement of his travel plan, he said "I have delayed my visit to Singapore as my doctor has gone to the US. Now, I will be going either on November 15 or 16. I will intimate the court about my travel plan.”

Before going to Singapore, Singh will hold a rally in Sarnath (Varanasi) on November 14, where he will highlight the issue of trifurcation of the state in front people.
