Patiala: Expressing displeasure on the exit poll reports, Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday claimed that Congress will return to power with a victory over atleast 70 seats in the 117 member Punjab assembly.

Speaking to Dainik Jagran, Sing said, "I do not agree with the exit poll reports. We would get not less than 70 seats. I have already asserted on polling day that we will get 70-plus seats.”

“First of all, the Congress will eliminate poverty. We will also provide employments to all youth and set up industries in the state. The Congress will normalize the financial condition of the state,” he replied when asked about his priorities if his party gets majority.

Targeting the SAD-BJP alliance, he said, “They have failed on all fronts and development of the state has been pushed to backburner. We will have to work hard to undo the wrong doings of SAD-BJP government”

Counting of votes in the state will be taken up at 8 am on Tuesday along with the counting in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa.
