Moga (Pb): Taking a dig at Congress, SAD president and Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday said the party will be forced to hold a 'shok shivir' after its 'chintan shivir', as the SAD-BJP alliance is all set to register a historic win in the Moga by-poll.

Sukhbir claimed the victory of SAD-BJP candidate in the Moga by-poll will ensure speedy development of the area. "Congress MLAs are instructed by their high command to hinder development activities initiated by the SAD-BJP government, so that the Congress can make it an issue in its future poll campaigns," the Deputy CM said.

Meanwhile, attacking the ruling SAD, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh on Sunday alleged there was an Akali link to every big criminal act in the state.

He demanded resignation of state panchayat and rural development minister Surkit Singh Rakhra, alleging that he was shielding main accused in a rape case in the state. Addressing public meetings in support of party candidate here, Singh referred to the reported disclosures made by the dismissed ASI Naseeb Singh and accused Rakhra of shielding the main accused in the Patiala gang rape and suicide case.

"Rakhra has no right to continue as a minister and he must be sacked if he does not resign on his own," he asserted.
