Jammu: A fresh batch of 3,596 pilgrims on Friday left the base camp here for onward journey to holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security.
The pilgrims comprising 2,466 men, 796 women, 107 children and 254 sadhus left in a cavalcade of 122 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 0500 hours for Amarnath, police said.
With Friday's batch, as many as 16,061 pilgrims have left Jammu for their onward journey to cave shrine of Amarnath.
