The company started taking orders from today and shipping would start from February 4, Amazon said in a statement.

According to the company, the new Kindle Paperwhite has features such as a new display technology with higher contrast, built-in light, faster processor and is priced at Rs 10,999 while the Wi-Fi + 3G model would cost Rs 13,999.

Commenting on the development, Amazon India Vice President and Country Manager Amit Agarwal said, "We are excited to make Kindle Paperwhite available to our customers in India".

The device would also be available offline across 250 retail outlets such as Croma, Reliance Digital and E-Zone UniverCel.
