Ambala: Doctors posted at Ambala Civil Hospital are finding it difficult to perform duties at night as they complain about misbehaviour by attendants of the patients and strangers roaming inside the hospital premises.

A number of such cases have appeared at civil hospital as well as at the trauma centre of the hospital when doctors had to face ill-treatment by the attendants and others.

The doctors also say that attendants usually forcefully enter into a ward and force to attend their patients on priority basis. On being denied to do so by the doctor owing to excess of work pressure, the attendants go on to threaten the doctor.

On late Wednesday night, two inebriated youths visited the hospital when a lady doctor was attending upon patients in the emergency ward.

She was compelled to open the doors when the youths banged upon the door repeatedly which resulted in an altercation between them. Later on the doctor lodged a complaint with the police.
