Whether he will get a Cabinet berth or a position in the Prime Minister’s Office, nothing has been made clear so far.

As of now, there are contradicting reports in the media over the future of Shah, who was put behind bars in 2008 for his alleged role in the extrajudicial execution of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh.

Many in the saffron party believe that Shah’s involvement in such a highly-covered criminal case would dent his chance to land a major role in Modi’s Cabinet.

However, another line of thought in the party believes that Shah’s stunning work in Uttar Pradesh and his unmatched organizational capabilities could help him seize a major role in the impending NDA government.

With the Prime Minister designate Modi reaching out to the senior leaders like LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and MM Joshi, no serious discussions have still taken on Shah’s role in the next government.

Modi held several meetings with BJP leaders, including Nagaland Chief Minister Niephiu Rio, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Karnataka strongman BS Yeddyurappa, at the Gujarat Bhawan on Sunday.
