New Delhi: The Big B of Bollywood has fans not only in India but world over also. As such it comes as no surprise when students from Israel turn up to eulogise the Bollywood superstar’s impeccable Hindi.

This was disclosed by a group of Israeli students who have come to Delhi from Tel-Aviv University. In an exclusive chit-chat with Dainik Jagran, the students’ delegation revealed that although Aamir and Shahrukh Khan’s Hindi dialogues are a source of language learning for them, when it comes to perfecting the language Amitabh Bachchan’s flawless Hindi diction in his films are the benchmarks followed by the Israelis.

This particular group of students is on a four week tour of India. On the first day of their tour they visited the centre for Israeli language, Hebrew, at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

They seemed keen to discuss their interest in Indian films. “Amitabh Bahchan is my favorite actor,” said Merav Levi, a BA student.

Reiterating about Amitabh’s perfect Hindi, they echoed that his Hindi is so pure that their institution uses his movies as a means to teach Hindi.

Head of the group, who is also a lecturer at Tel-Aviv University, Dr Gennady Shlomper said, “The students like to read Ramdhari Singh Dinkar and Premchand.”

He also added that along with the students, he himself likes to watch Hindi channels.

Explaining their itinerary he said, the students will also visit Varanasi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Mumbai during this trip.

He also said the main objective to visit India is to make the students aware of Indian culture.
