Ranchi: In a move to provide better opportunities of higher education to the students of the state, the Jharkhand government is all set to give green signal to Jharkhand Amity University and Jharkhand Rai University.

Taking initiative in this direction, the Human Resource Department is considering the proposal submitted by the private universities based in the national capital.

Besides, more than a dozen of other private universities including Manipal University have also submitted their proposal to the government.

For the establishment of the two universities, separate University Act will be legislated which will have provisions for allotment of land to the private players and the grant for operating the college.

However, owing to certain issues related to granting permission of Rai University, the Finance Department has forwarded the file to the Human Resource Department.

It needs to be mentioned that in the year 2009-10, ICFAI was the first private university established in the state for which the state government enacted the ICFAI University Act.

In order to promote private universities, the human resource department has already prepared layout of the Private University Bill.
