Amritsar: Direct selling major Amway India on Thursday said the company recorded sale of Rs 80 crore in Punjab in 2011 and state contributes 16 per cent in company's sale from the northern region.

Amway has five offices in Punjab including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bhatinda and Patiala along with 4 city warehouses at Zirakpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Jalandhar.

Amway clocked a turnover of Rs 2,130 crore nationally thus registering a growth of 19 per cent in 2011, over the previous fiscal (2010) when it recorded a turnover of Rs 1,790 crore, Amway India, Vice President (North), Bhuvan Kapur said here.

Kapur said, "The double digit growth for the last four years is buoyed by the launch of superior quality products in the lead categories of Health & Beauty, increased consumer access strategy coupled with experiential marketing & brand awareness, penetration of products in semi urban and rural markets of the state."

Amway India is eyeing total turnover of Rs 2,500 crore in 2012 from the country, he added.
