Los Angeles: Mitch Winehouse is writing a book on the life of his singer-daughter Amy Winehouse, who died recently.

'Amy: My Daughter' is due in summer 2012 and follows the troubled singer's life from her mischievous early years to her rise to stardom to her struggles with addiction to her death, reported a daily.

The British singer-songwriter rose to stardom with her vintage husky voice but her rise to fame was overshadowed by her drug and alcohol addiction. She was found dead in her London apartment on July 23. She was 27.

Mitch promises to discuss her much-publicised struggles with addiction and substance abuse as well. His aim is to make the book a fitting tribute to his daughter.

"I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery," he said.

Winehouse is donating all his proceeds from the book to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity he founded after the 'Back to Black' singer's death to help children and young adults, especially those who suffer from addiction.
