Bhopal: The Special Task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh has unfolded the murder mystery of scribe Chandrika Rai and his family.

Rai’s neighbour, a home guard along with four accomplices allegedly hatched a conspiracy to rob Rai’s house as their financial condition was bad.

“The kidnapper of the boy who failed to receive hefty ransom conspired to rob Rai’s house with four other accused and ended up killing him and his family,” sources in STF said.

Chandrika Rai (42), wife Durga Rai (40), son Jalaj (19) and daughter Nisha (14) were found lying in pool of blood in different rooms of the family's house.

According to Sources, the Rais’ murder has nexus to the abduction of the government official’s son Anant at Jharia last week.

Sources also claim that at 9pm on February 20, home guard allegedly forced Rai to open the door and looted Rs.25, 000. When he resisted, the home guard allegedly hit him on the head with an iron rod.

After hearing his screams Rai’s family rushed to the spot where they were also allegedly murdered.

It is also expected that STF may recover robbed amount from the home guard.
