Anantapur: TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu announced that his party would waive loans of farmers if it came to power in the 2014 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
    
Speaking at Guntakal in Anantapur district during his ongoing 'padayatra' across the state, he said farmers' loans needed to be waived to help them as they are in distress.
    
TDP would try to get the recommendations of a panel headed by agriculture scientist M S Swaminathan implemented by the Centre if it gets good number of seats in the general elections, the TDP leader said.
    
Naidu, who began his 'padayatra' on October 2 at Hindupur in Anantapur district, entered Kurnool district.
    
The Leader of the Opposition has been meeting people of all sections during his 'padayatra' in Anantapur district. He would conclude his 'padayatra' on the Republic Day (January 26) after travelling the state on foot.
