New Delhi:  Hitting out at anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare for having an alleged political agenda, the Congress party asked Anna to enter politics to get ample opportunity to prove himself to enact a strong and effective Lokpal bill.

Reacting on Anna Hazare’s Sunday letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati, Congress general secretary and Parliamentary Standing Committee chief Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Monday dubbed it as ‘unnecessary’.

Singhvi said, “Anna should enter politics. If he does so and come to power, he will get ample opportunity to prove that he mean what he preach and if that happens the country will have a good government and a clean alternative from the present political atmosphere.”

On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party accused Team Anna of indulging in corruption and advised it to reconsider their thoughts before expressing.

“It is really hard to understand the ‘fool’. Samajwadi Party is a responsible party. They (Team Anna) are corrupt people. RSS and BJP supported Anna’s movement. Writing letters to top politicians signifies their stand,” said, Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, SP general secretary and national spokesperson.

They also advised him to launch a political party if he has full faith in his team members.
