Ghaziabad: In an effort to inculcate leadership skills among youths, veteran anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare has come up with a plan to create 100 model villages in the country.

Speaking at a two-day college seminar in Ghaziabad, Hazare said there is a need for debate on how to form a model village. Hazare said youths will be given exhaustive training in various field like cleaning and working with shovel to inculcate leadership skills among them.

The social activist added that high rise buildings cannot be an inspiration for an ideal village, instead the people need to change their thinking.  “People should also develop the feeling of leadership and welfare of the society,” said Anna.

Hazare said that model villages are not created by money but by leadership.

Anna argued that even if 10 paisa out of Re 1 allotted for development package reaches the village then the progress of the country is an inevitable thing.

The social activist exhorted people to fight against corruption even if they have to face opposition from various sections in the society.

Hazare said that though fighting against corruption is a challenging task but its not impossible thing to do.

Team Anna core committee members Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, Kumar Vishwas, Manish Sisodia, Moulana among other marked their presence in the seminar. Anna supporters from Himachal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha also participated in the event.

Team Anna has threatened the government with third round of protest from December 27 at Jantar Mantar if their demand for an effective Lokpal is not met.
