The convoy has already crossed Udhampur district and the pilgrims would reach their respective destinations at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps by the evening.

As many as 12,103 pilgrims have so far left Jammu for their onward journey to the cave shrine of Amarnath.

The yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine from the traditional Pahalgam route began on Wednesday and till date over 61,000 yatris have had the darshan of Ice Lingam.

Situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet, the Amarnath cave shrine houses the Holy Lingam, an ice stalagmite structure believed to symbolize Lord Shiva. For this year's yatra, 193,000 pilgrims have registered themselves with the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).
