Lucknow: Joining the league of ministers like Ramveer Upadhya, BR Ahirwar and Babu Singh Kushwaha, another Uttar Pradesh Minister Chandradev Ram has come under the scanner of Lokayukta for allegedly drawing salaries for two posts simultaneously in a month.

Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra said that the complaint against Chandradev Ram, Minister for Small Industries in Mayawti government was filed by three people from Azamgarh. He was alleged of misusing the ministerial position in amassing the wealth, drawing salary as principal of a school and illegally acquiring Gram Sabha land for construction of college.

Mehrotra said, “As per the reports submitted by Social Welfare Officer and Basic Skiksha Adhikari(BSA), Chandradev Ram has been drawing salary as principal of government aided Kashi Madhyamik School, Hazipur since December 2006.”

He raised questions on the Minister for handling responsibilities of two positions at a time. More so, principal of a government aided school comes under BSA, so how can a Cabinet Minister be under BSA? He asked.
