Shirdi: A local court has rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of four former trustees of Shirdi Sansthan Trust (which manages the affairs of the famous Saibaba temple in Shirdi) in the case of alleged misuse of Sansthan's vehicles.

The Kopargaon court on Friday turned down the bail pleas of trustees KC Pandey, RG Karnik, Urmila Jadhav and Capt Suresh Vasudeva for the misuse of Shirdi Sansthan vehicles.

An RTI activist Sanjay Kale had sought information from Shirdi Sansthan and Regional Transport Office (RTI) in Shrirampur regarding these irregularities.

Shirdi Sansthan Trust had passed a resolution to pay air-conditioned vehicles at Rs 7 per km, but trustee KC Pandey had submitted bills, which showed that the vehicles charged Rs 18 per km.

Kopargaon court had earlier ordered police to register offences against the trustees.
