Kibithu/Arunachal Pradesh (Agencies): Defence Minister A K Antony on Saturday reviewed the security situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Saturday here.

Antony's visit here comes against the backdrop of China's increasing military modernisation and ever-increasing military expenditure.

The Defence Minister had recently said these are of serious concern for India.

From the army post in Kibithu, the LAC can be monitored, Defence spokesperson Sitanshu Kar said.

Antony also visited Leimakhong to take stock of the security situation in Manipur and was briefed by senior military commanders about "changing role of the Army in being an agent of change in the sensitive milieu of Manipur," the spokesperson said.

The minister was accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff General V K Singh, Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar, Eastern Army Commander Lt General Bikram Singh and the GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen N K Singh.

On Friday, Antony had visited Tezpur and Chabua in Assam and Rangaphar Military Station in Nagaland.
