Revamped Apple MacBook features 13.1 millimeters thick body, 12-inch Retina display and exclusively designed trackpad and keyboard.

The new MacBook weighs just 2 pounds, it's the thinnest and lightest from Mac range for which the shipping will begins from April 10.

The price range will vary from USD 1,299 for a model clocked at 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor complimented by 8 GB memory and 256 GB flash memory storage to USD 1,599 for top model in the range, clocked at 1.2 GHz processor complimented by 512 GB.

Buyers will be given three three colour options for the MacBook – gold, silver and space gray.

Apple CEO Tim Cook told the presentation crowd that "we challenged ourselves to reinvent the notebook."

Holding it to the side, he asked, "Can you even see it?"

Referencing its lightness, Cook added, "I can't even feel it!"

Later, Phil Schiller, worldwide marketing president explored the upgraded keyboard design has been made more efficient and how trackpad feels more flexible now. The display sports best of HD features with 2304x1440 resolution and 3 million pixels which will decrease the energy consumption by 30 percent.

It has been designed for wireless usage, packed with iCloud, AirDrop for storing and sharing files and Bluetooth for music. The MacBook gets a small USB-C connector for power, data and other connections.

The new worked battery design claims up to nine hours on wireless Web and up to 10 hours of iTunes movie viewing.

Apple has also announced a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and 13-inch MacBook Air with upgraded processors available from Tuesday starting at USD 1,299 and USD 899.
