A report from a Chinese tech site IT168 which received the leaked images of the phone confirmed the news that iPhone 5C would have a rear camera of 8 megapixel. That is the same camera which is in the current iPhone 5, a part manufactured by Sony.

Further information from the source suggests that the iPhone 5C, or iPhone Light, will also feature the same A6 processor and 1GB RAM, as was included in the iPhone 5.

However, it’s still unclear whether the iPhone 5C will be available worldwide, or if it will be an Asia-only exclusive aimed at developing markets. Rumour has it that Apple fears a worldwide release of a cheaper device would see sales of its premium devices plummet, which in turn could decimate its profits.

The iPhone 5C might turn out to be a similar device to the iPhone 5 spec-wise and differ mostly in its plastic build and colorful back palette.
