According to a research conducted by DisplaySearch, the company is all set to introduce the MacBook Air with a 12-inch pixel-packing display. The new version is likely to be unveiled next year.

The firm indicated that the new laptop may sport a display with 226 pixels per inch resolution (PPI) an upgrade from 127 and 135 PPI for the current 13.3-inch (1,440x900) and 11.6-inch (1,366x768) MacBook Airs.

It is also anticipated that the revamped MacBook Air would have a 227-PPI Retina display that is currently on the 13.3-inch Retina MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Air family is a line of ultraportable Macintosh notebook computers created by Apple Inc. MacBook Air was designed to balance both performance and portability. It has a full-sized keyboard design and a machined aluminium casing with extremely low weight and thickness.
