The nursing officers of Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Command Hospital Udhampur celebrated their 90th Raising Day today. "On this occasion, Lt Gen D S Hooda, GOC-in-C (Army Commander) extended his greetings to all MNS officers and their families, staff of MNS in the Command Zone", an army spokesman said.

He added that the Military Nursing Service is an integral glorious service of Defence Forces with an enduring ability to deliver effective nursing care to the sick and wounded, despite all constraints.

The mission of MNS is 'Excellence in Patient Care' both in war and peace, which is pursued with utmost fervour, zeal and zest, he said.

"On Oct 1, 1926, a permanent nursing service for the Indian troops was formed and was designated as Indian Military Nursing Service", the army spokesman cited.
