New Delhi: Before entering the army, the young aspirants will now require to brush up their technical know how. On the lines of banking and corporate sector, the army is also mulling to organize online written examination for the recruitment of jawans in the armed forces.

By the end of this year, trial of online written test will be conducted at the Lucknow and Uttarakhand recruitment offices. If the trial is successful, the format will be applied in the 2013-14 recruitment process.

The approval for making the recruitment process high-tech was given a go-ahead during the three-day seminar of the senior officials in the district. To get rid of any kind of glitch, a master software has also been prepared at the Lucknow headquarters. According to sources, the Pune wing of the Army is conducting the online test for the recruitment of the jawans.

The Army has inducted the highest male recruitment population (RMP) of 17. 3 percent from Uttar Pradesh. However, the youth hailing from villages are not much adapted to computers.

A thousand questions will be loaded on the computer wiith the help of the master software. About 60 applicants in Lucknow and 30 applicants at other nine recruitment centres in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be able to appear for the online test. Each applicant’s question paper would be different from the other on the computer.
