Arguing that the Article ‘hampered the integration process’ of the state with the nation, state BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma's political adviser, Hari Om said that those who did not join the debate had no stand on the issue.
Earlier, BJP national president Rajnath Singh announced the party's softening on the issue saying "If J&K develops because of Article 370, then we have no objection in keeping it.”
The saffron party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had earlier stated at a rally in Jammu that there should be at least a debate on whether or not Article 370 has benefitted the state, triggering a political row.
Om alleged that the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, and minorities like Sikhs and Kashmiri Hindus have been suffering due to such wrong policies and said that the best way to resolve such controversial issues was through debate and discussion in public.
