Jaipur: Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley will meet former Rajasthan minister and BJP MLA Rajendra Rathore on Monday. Rathore is presently lodged in Jaipur Central Jail in the connection with the Dara Singh fake encounter case.

Jaitley will arrive in Jaipur by afternoon and return in evening the same day. While meeting Rathod, he may be accompanied by state opposition leader Vasundhara Raje and state BJP chief Arun Chaturvedi where they are supposed to be discussing some legal aspects related to the case.

Jaitley will also convey to Rathore that the party high command has full sympathy with him.

After his meeting with Rathore, he will reach party office in Jaipur to talk to party workers and address media.

Notably, Rajendra Rathore is in Jail for his alleged involvement in illegal liquor mafia Dara Singh’s fake encounter case.  He is accused of ordering the killing of Dara Singh.

BJP has termed Rathore’s arrest as a part of conspiracy hatched against him by the ruling Congress.
Rathore himself has called CBI’s charges against him as “fabricated”.  Rathore has now pinned his hope on Jaitley as the latter is a senior lawyer in Supreme Court.

However, party’s state unit and High command appear to be standing by Rathore during his time of difficulties.

The party workers came out on roads to protest the arrest of their party leader accusing CM Ashok Gehlot of directing the CBI to act against him.
