New Delhi: Drawing flak for his ‘Give and Take’ statement to solve Indo-China border dispute, former Army Chief and the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, General JJ Singh clarified that it was his personal view on India –China relationship.

In his remark, Singh said that India should do away with its non-negotiable stand on the border dispute with China. Calling for a policy review in the changed global scenario regarding dispute between India-China on the eastern frontier of the country, General (retd) Singh on Thursday had said, “It is important to resolve the India-China border dispute and for that some give and take is necessary. India will have to move away from our position that our territory is non-negotiable."

China considers Arunachal Pradesh as a part of Tibet and has been claiming that India has occupied the territory forcefully. Both the countries have already fought a month long battle in October 1962 over the dispute.
